AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry today (April 9, 2009) joined Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states' rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

"I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state," Gov. Perry said. "That is why I am here to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to REAFFIRM STATES' RIGHTS AFFIRMED BY THE TENTH AMENDMENT to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union."

A number of recent federal proposals are NOT within the scope of the federal government's constitutionally designated powers and impede the states' right to govern themselves. HCR 50 affirms that Texas claims SOVEREIGNTY under the 10th Amendment over all powers not otherwise granted to the federal government.

It also designates that ALL compulsory federal legislation that requires states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties, or that requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding, be prohibited or repealed.

HCR 50 is authored by Representatives Brandon Creighton, Leo Berman, Bryan Hughes, Dan Gattis, and Ryan Guillen. [End of article].

Why else is it so important to regain our Constitutional mandated 10th Amendment Right? Notice this article from The Washington Times, April 13, 2009 – "House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, announced last week that she wants to REGISTER guns. Her next move will be to try to CONFISCATE them. …"

When J. Edgar Hoover headed the FBI, he had an assistant, W. Cleon Skousen. Skousen accumulated a mountain of information about International Communism's plan to OVERTHROW America for a one-world-government. One of 45 points he wrote in his book, The Naked Communist, was that under some pretense they wanted gun registration on the national level – with the long-range plan to confiscate ALL guns!!! Nancy Pelosi is a Socialist and is simply promoting their plan.

In 1959, Nikita Khrushchev made a visit to the United States under the pretense of learning American agriculture. Ezra Taft Benson hosted him. Benson called him a murderer and said Khrushchev should not have been allowed in our country. During the half day Benson spent with Khrushchev, he told Benson: "We can't expect the American people to jump from Capitalism to Communism, but WE can assist their elected leaders in giving them small doses of Socialism UNTIL, they awaken one day to find they have COMMUNISM."

Barack Obama was trained in (deceased) Saul Alinsky's Industrial Areas Foundation. Unfortunately, Alinsky was a Marxist/Socialist that also trained Hillary Clinton. At the G-20 meeting in Europe in 2009, Obama agreed to place the Treasury Department under the International Monetary Fund of the United Nations. According to newspaper articles, this would give International Bankers complete regulatory power over the U.S. economy! They could fire CEO's and hire CEO's for our major businesses. They would have complete control over ALL American financial institutions. This would dissolve our national sovereignty and merge us into a world government. If this continues, the U.S. will be mainly controlled by European Bankers! These are the very people our Founding Fathers tried to eliminate from gaining a foothold over our financial institutions. The Federal Reserve System Act of 1913 gave away Congress' authority to coin money and regulate the value thereof. The Constitution says ONLY Congress has that power. Obama, a Socialist, wants to give our nation to the U.N. IMF. The United Nations was founded by Communists, including Alger Hiss, and can only bring about a one world Communist government.

Why are State's Rights so important??? We can ignore Obama's attempt to give our country into the hands of our enemies!!! We can "impeach" him and try him for treason for aiding and abetting our enemies. If our national elected leaders will not do that, there will be only one recourse to maintain freedom – SECESSION!!!

North Dakota has now passed its resolution to reclaim its States' Rights and put the Federal Government on alert that it will not obey unconstitutional laws any longer.

New Hampshire, in its Resolution to take back their 10th Amendment Rights, as much as said it would secede if all else failed! There are now 30 states, count them, 30 states proposing to take back their States' Rights.

A Chinese newspaper headline read: Texas and 23 other states reclaiming states' rights. Of course, it has now reached 30 states. Where will it end? Will at least one section of the country survive to have freedom?

The author of HCR 50 in Texas said we have the 9th largest economy in the world and balance our State budget. We don't need big Socialist spenders!!!
